The Process

Eddie the Maker specialises in custom designed and made furniture. No two spaces are the same, therefore I carefully consider the design of each piece. I will work directly with you during the design process to achieve the best possible result for your needs. This process can take time, and below are the steps to achieving your custom piece of furniture:

Contact

Contact me with your vision: what are you looking for? Photographs of other pieces you like often help the design process. From here we will discuss budget, size, material and finish choices. This step can be done via email, over the phone or I can offer a sight visit within the Cairns region. 

Cost

From here I will provide an estimated cost based on everything previously discussed. If this is within your budget, we can move forward to the next stage.

Design and quote

Based on our discussions, I will provide an initial drawing and a quote, which may differ slightly from the initial estimated cost. This step incurs a $100 fee for drawing and quoting, which will be deducted from the final invoice should you go ahead with the build. I will also provide with an approximate lead out time for your piece. 

Design changes

Any minor changes to the design and materials from here will not incur any extra cost. It might however change the quote price. Major design changes or new design drawings will be charged at $50 per drawing and quote.

Deposit

Once a design and a price have been agreed on, a deposit will be required to begin work. This is usually around 25% of the total cost, and may change based on material choice and design complexity. 

The Build!

Now the fun begins! I will keep you posted on the progress during the build. Once completed, I will deliver your piece to you (within the Cairns region). I will also provide you with any ongoing care instructions.
